Consumer Debt Collection | Kenya

We specialize in managing the collection of high volumes of consumer credit in various market sectors in Kenya. Our clients include financial institutions and corporate entities. Our in-house developed collections systems are highly flexible and customizable.

Our telephone collections staff are dedicated to specific accounts and take ownership of those accounts. They receive intensive training in the specific industry sector they handle, which results in a higher success rate in collecting debts on behalf of our clients.

Here is an overview of our market segmentation:

  1. Financial Services: We represent several financial service providers, such as major banks, credit card companies, online lenders, and specialized loan providers. We adhere to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and comply with relevant laws and regulations.

  2. Utilities: This debt type is unique with specific characteristics and regulatory constraints. We have extensive experience working with water companies, electricity providers, telephone companies, and internet service providers. The volume of accounts in this sector can vary significantly due to different billing cycles. However, we adapt our contact center resources to ensure all accounts receive the appropriate attention.

To commence collections, we require the following:

  1. Authorization letter: This grants us the mandate to recover debts on behalf of the client.

  2. Loan statements or debtor statements: These provide details of each loanee or debtor’s outstanding amounts.

  3. Personal details of the loanee and guarantor(s): This includes their names, addresses, phone contacts, and email addresses if available.

  4. Brief description of the loanee’s or business’s location.

  5. Certificate of incorporation and KRA (Kenya Revenue Authority) PINs: These are required for both the company and its directors.

  6. Invoices and deliveries: Documentation related to the debt, such as invoices and records of deliveries.

  7. Copy of the contract: This includes the agreement between the parties involved.

  8. Copy of the credit terms and conditions: This outlines the terms of the credit agreement.

By providing these requirements, we can effectively initiate the debt collection process.
